Oak front door & frame

Postby HOJ » 11 Dec 2021, 17:57

Just finished this Oak front door & frame project which included building an Oak framed porch to cover it in. I went to look to do this 2 years ago, but got diverted into loads of other work for the client, long story, any how:

Only have a few pictures of the build progress, 1st job make up bottom section of frame:

Grand job. I bet you checked you measurements a few times, fitting that frame between those walls!

I agree. Fine work and top notch fitting accuracy.
Don't like: wood, engines, electrickery, decorating, tiling, laying stone, plumbing, gardening or any kind of DIY. Not wild about spiders either.

Thank you for the positives.

I tend to spend more time than I should measuring, but it pays dividends, this opening was actually well out of plumb and level.

Big frames are an in thing for me at the moment got another 5 to do, workshops not big enough for some, this one is 2.4m tall X 3m wide with another 1m tall section to go on top, but at least its rectangular:

You’ve got one lucky client there. I am not at all surprised he has found other things for you to do.
I do not think therefore I do not am.

cheers

This is getting boring, they all look the same, any way another 2 doors, I've made & fitted 3 others as well as these, but didn't want to overwhelm:

Oak door.jpg
(360.74 KiB)

Oak door 2.jpg
(286.55 KiB)

I'm more than pleased with them, can be quite daunting sometimes, will they fit! (did need a bit of brickwork filing in places)
