Really feel sorry for you down in Cornwall, Phil, listening to the news today. 2.5 million :o cases of Covid. WTF? We have too many KDOS and need a cull. Why are people so thick and stupid? So utterly uncaring of others ?

What is so difficult for the KDOS to understand ? Wear a bloody mask. If you go out without one and increase your social contact with others then you WILL get Covid. You may be lucky and only get symptoms of a sniffle. You simply don't know. Even second time round. Or third time. But you never know. Do you really want Long Covid ? Anyone who thinks otherwise is a moron IMO.

I agree with the sentiment but not sure about those figures. Cornwall only has a population of 566,000.

Good point. Must tell SWMBO who told me those figures :D I like to live dangerously

EDIT: Just watched the BBC Breakfast clip and they actually said "Two and a half thousand"....which sadly confirms something that I've been observing lately in the missus....words get jumbled/misplaced :(

We had our market day last Saturday.
Due to rain etc it was all indoors in the hall and dining area.
100+ people at any point in time.
Masks? Got to be kidding!
How can you walk about eating and drinking coffee and talking with a mask on!

Simple. No one is forcing you to drink coffee or eat. You can still talk with a mask on.

Just had a look at the official covid case map here https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/details ... -map/cases

It seems curious how the different cases numbers clearly outline the borders of Wales, England and Scotland suggesting somehow that the relatively small differences in the timing of restriction being lifted in each of the regions has been significant but not in the way one might predict.
England lifted first but does not have the greater density of cases, Scotland lifted last and yet has the greatest case density and Wales is similarly counter intuitive.

Unless I've misread the data?

I think that’s much more likely to be the way the data is collected and in England's case people are not bothering to register cases now that the big threat is over.

Well, off to get vaccine jab #5 in 20 mins. Given how I've reacted each time, not looking forward to the next 3 days :eusa-snooty: :eusa-snooty: :eusa-snooty:

A few days of arching arm, if that is all, must be way better than the week of feeling unwell followed but what I can only describe as a not normal tiredness and lethargy.
I do not think therefore I do not am.

The fun started at 3am. Had the shakes and sweats since then not slept a wink. I ache like I got flattened by a loco. If they send me for another I will refuse if they wont give me something other than moderna. With Pfizer, I just get a sore arm for a bit. I feel like death warmed up.

They don't give me a choice and I can't hold out as I have a severely compromised immune system. I am given the jab bang on every 12 weeks give or take a couple of days. It just hits me so hard and lays me out for a week. So I just have to have what they give or as per most of the last 2 1/2 years I would just have to sit on the sofa and not even be allowed to use the garden.

Well to top it all off, after 4 days of feeling like death I made my way to the hospital by way of an hour bus trip for my venesection today. First words the nurse said was "you look awful!" Let them know what had happened over the week, did a couple of tests BP and quick blood, 40 mins later after chat with doc they cancelled my drain as I was unfit for it to happen, so gotta go back next week. ho hum.

Still, starting to feel a bit better now, had my first food since Sunday without upchucking 20 mins later.

We have gone MASKLESS! :D
No limit on gatherings etc.
It is up to the venue/building/shop/whoever to state if they still require a mask.

Went to our clinic this morning for BP (144/80 sh1t 62bpm but 99% saturation) and their rules and the frail care are still masks and sanitising.

Our infection rate looks low, but according to the govt. health department people have it and shrug it off as cold or flu.
I picked up serious nose & sinus infection 4 weeks ago and went for virus test, negative.
4 Weeks and still suffering. Stick my head over the handbasin and just blow, blow, blow. Didn't think there was space in my head for all the crap that comes out :o

Phill have you tried douching your nose. I make my own colloidal water using rods of silver and a battery, then mix with some salt to irrigate my nose.

Wallace, just reading that cleared my nose

I use salt spray in a can. Works well.
But, I started losing my balance when bending forward and decided a Dr visit is called for.
We have an Intercare medical facility 4km from home.
Log onto their site to make an appointment. The site shows all the Dr's and available time slots.
I now have an antibiotic for 5 days as well as Cortisone and some other spray.
There was less crap discharged this morning.

I still wore my mask as well as the Dr. Other people visiting not.
At the chemist all the pharmacists were masked, as well as at least 50% of the shoppers.

Its very similar to the salt spray but your sniffing a handful up your nose, using silver water helps fight infection. It is horrid if you forget to put the salt in.

i hope the recover continues Michael.

My Covid app tells me that I am eligible for another jab, my fourth, on the 13th July. Rang the helpline today to confirm appointment and was told that as I had 3 jabs and Covid in April further jabs were not required. Same for the missus and the kids. Main gauche et main droit.
I do not think therefore I do not am.

bit of a rant/off topic but the tests should still be free, especially if you're vulnerable, elderly or unemployed.
