Where's MikeG?

Hang up your Chisels and Plane blades and take a load off with a recently turned goblet of your favourite poison, in the lounge of our Gentlemen's (and ladies) Club.

To get this back on topic, I've heard from Mike and he is fine, just taking a break from the computer.
He expects normal service to return in a few days.

Yep that’s good to hear. And kudos to Mike for sticking with it. I’ve tried an IT detox in the past and it didn't last more than a few days.

I have emailed Mike direct.

Unless of course, Bob didn't get a reply via email and called him directly, in which case you would be correct.

So really your first sentence is incorrect as it should say

"No. It might be you not reading the thread properly :D "

Just saying.

The first sentence is correct as I used “unless” in the second, had I said “might be” in the first sentence and then “unless” in the second then it wouldn’t make any sense.

Perhaps you should be getting a bit of kip instead of replying to my posts at 2:00 in the morning, Roger.

This thread has reverted back to topic far too readily.

I'm indifferent about cricket but I like cricketers because they buy my photographs of them playing the game.

Good to know Mike's okay.

Thanks for the concern, folks (I'm not sure about the diversion into golf....!!). We went to Spain for a fortnight to meet our first grandchild (7 months old) for the first time. Being as it isn't hard to find my real identity and there are plenty of hints as to where I live, I didn't want to give any clues to any light-fingered scumbags who might have fancied emptying my workshop whilst I was away, so didn't post to say we were off. I was almost entirely without computer access for the fortnight, but did manage to get a message to Bob. Thanks for the PMs, too.

I will try and catch up on the forum later on, but if there is anything that needs my attention it might be sensible to link to it via PM.

I did some fun woodworking whilst I was away, and found some lovely handtools, so more on that in due course. In the meantime, I have clients who haven't been able to contact me for 2 weeks, so if you'll forgive me.......

Despite what some may think there is a quite a close knit caring community round here who do notice when respected regular contributors suddenly go missing.

If any of you wish to, and it is entirely voluntary, drop any of the mods a PM if you are trolling off somewhere and we can reassure other members discreetly that all is well if needed without obviously indicating that your workshops are unattended and ripe for plundering.

That’s one reason I’m very vague about personal details as I don’t really want any random person trundling up to the door at any time. It took a long time before I even signed off PMs with my first name, that’s leaked unto the public forum over time as it would, it doesn’t really bother me too much as I trust the majority of posters here anyway.

I think only one person knows my personal email, aside from Trim of course :eusa-think:

I know you're joking, but I can honestly say I've never looked at a single email of any registered user since the day they registered and I check whether it's a 'real' account or spammer (other than when someone has asked for one to be changed). If any of your personal email addresses ever got leaked then I can assure you it wouldn't be from here, or at least not intentionally. :obscene-drinkingcheers:

It is a good idea to let at least some forum members have your contact details just in case the forum goes tit$ up and the mods have to start again from scratch.
I am not wishing this of course but nobody saw it coming last time, and we are better prepared now anyway.
I do not think therefore I do not am.
