Trivia Quiz.

Postby Mike G » 03 May 2022, 20:45

Here's an idea which has worked well on other forums in the past. It relies entirely on honesty, because search engines kill it off. It also relies on people checking in regularly to see if their answer is correct or not, and if it is, to then set the next question. And if you set the question, you've got to check regularly to answer yay or nay to those guessing.

So, here's the idea. Someone asks a trivia question, and others guess at the answer without using Duckduckgo or any other search engines. If you get the answer right, it's your turn to set the question. To keep things ticking over, each question has a life of 48 hours. If no-one gets it right in that time, the questioner gives the answer and sets another question. Obviously, judging the difficulty of the questions is going to make-or-break the game. If you ask who was second in command of BP in 1963 you will spoil it for everyone.

Right, so I'll start the ball rolling.......

The USA is known for it's solo artists, but not so much for its groups. So, can you name the biggest selling American group in history?

I'll accept either of two answers, because the line between a solo artist and a group can get a bit blurry.

No, not S&G.....but they neatly highlight what I said about the line between solo artist and group being a bit blurry.

OK, this is embarrassing! It is the Eagles.

My question was based on a list of the biggest selling groups in the UK.....where the highest selling American artists are Blondie, Black Eye Peas, and Boney M!!!!! When I actually look at the biggest selling groups around the world, the Eages are second to the Beatles.

Over to you Dave.

I'm after a bipedal mammal other than man or any Australian marsupials. So a mammal which walks habitually on 2 legs in preference to 4.

You're in the right location, but the wrong animal. Meerkats stand on hind legs to look out for predators, but they run around on all fours.
