Logging in

Postby Cabinetman » 03 Feb 2022, 18:22

Something has changed recently, I am now having to login each time I come on the site, that’s not so bad but I can’t get to the button that says keep me logged in fast enough before the page reverts to the one I was looking at previously. Just mention it. Ian

Same thing has been happening to me for ages. Works fine for a while then as per Ian. Will try your suggestion.

I think the Keep Me logged in works with cookies, try clearing the site cookies and trying it again.

I've tried that, thanks, Dave. It works for a while and then back to its old tricks.

Ian...what browser are you using ?

Wry smile time. I had a quiet little bet with myself that that would be the case. So do I. I think it's yet another Safari 'feature'

I've never had that problem with Safari.

Same here
I use safari on my iPhone, seamonkey on most pcs and chrome from time to time. Login is remembered every time and I’ve never experienced a race to tick the stay logged in prior to log in.

What is being described is quite alien to my experiences. I wonder if the are other security type features at work with those that are experiencing these problems? Maybe experiment with turning then off one by one?

Well it’s started doing it again, I don’t log out but when I come back I have to login each time, don’t think it’s Safari as I don’t have any problems anywhere else, I wouldn’t mind but I can’t hit the button to stay logged in fast enough before the page disappears. Also noticed today that the quote and reply buttons top right hand corner on every post had disappeared – normally they are still there even if I’m not logged in. Ian
Ps, I don’t have any security features to turn off lol!

When you get to the login page, tick the stay logged in box first, then put in your credentials.

I don't understand the race to login in anyway. I have to press the button to login?

Maybe safari for mac is different from that used by iphone?

Both the missus and I do on some sites. However I'm glad to say that since hitting that box before logging in, I've been OK.

I'm on Version 14.0.3 (15610.4.3.1.6, 15610)

It's a weird one, mine stays logged in 99% of the time, then occasionally it will throw me out and I need to log in again and check the keep me logged in box. It's a browser related rather than forum thing, but I don't know what or why.
Cheers

Good idea I’ll try that next time.
