The frame and bracing is on both sides Mark, sandwiching in the T&G panels. It's all rough sawn, treated timber that will be painted once the workshop is built. I did it this way for security (the double doors are the toolshed) as well as the fact that I quite like it. The two workshop doors will be made from planed timber and I've not decided whether to have the bracing on the inside or outside for these.

Thanks, that'll save a bit of cash and time. What do you think about my choice of block for the plinth?

Those lightweight blocks absorb a lot of water. Above that level they're fine, but as you are prone to flooding I'd maybe go for something a bit denser. An aggregate block, perhaps. Strength-wise, any old thing will do.

No, Adrian was asking Mike, the originator of this thread, why his doors are inside out.

Maybe responders need to type MikeG or MikeJ to avoid confusion or this thread could become a nightmare to follow :D

Anyhow, MikeG I'm taking your advice and will use Forterra Solid Concrete Block 7.3N 100mm blocks on the outer leaf and Thermalite Shield Block 3.6N 50mm on the inner leaf (if I can get them, I can't find 50mm Thermalite Turbos only 100mm and I am too old to be sawing 50 blocks in half sideways ;) ). Bearing in mind you appear to have had problems/delays buttering the inner soft blocks to your brick plinth could I use something like Gripfill dotted and dabbed on the joining side set on a mortar bed? I've used Hippo3 for the greenhouse and it's great stuff but goes off pretty quickly so I'm concerned I'll run into problems levelling off each block.

Thanks
