I've recently built a big deck.....
11m L x 4.5mW.....
I made a box steel frame with steel legs, in my case the legs are on rock but could be heavy paving slabs....
where there are descrepancies in hight I have used 20mm threaded rod to gain correct levels......
I then used 150x50mm joists.....
this will outlast me.....
if I were in the UK I'd have had it galvanised....
but guess this is OK if u can work steel...
and lastly the decking is Swedish treated pine (virt no knots) 4.5mL x 120Wx20mm .....
only did 7 running meters and that was almost €800's.....

Wow that's huge! Steel frame sounds interesting - do you have any photos? How did you fix the joists to the frame?

On mine I've now fixed all of the joists with hangers:

All of the wood was pretty bowed and I tried to use straight ones for the outer plates but even so it bends out quite a bit infront of the door. I will try to take this bend out by packing the 'fascia' decking board so it is parallel to the front of the building.

Haven't got much done over the past week as I've caught Covid; hoping to get back to it properly soon.

One thing I realised is that while I'm using a span of 600mm, 32mm (nom) boards should really be over a 400/450mm span max. I'm not sure this is an issue as I've taken a board and jumped on it from quite a height and it did not fail. I think I'll leave it as is.

All done :)

I did a 'picture frame' border then filled in the main area. For the last few boards I had to rip cut them down to fit, I then rounded them over to shed water.

The boards are fitted 3mm apart - I'm anticipating shrinkage as these were just treated.

I actually sort of messed up the frame, not initially fitting joists to support the ends of the middle deck boards. I went back and added these:

And the guttering just runs down under the deck. Hopefully most water will be diverted into the water butt (as long as its not full).

Very happy with the finished product!
