No, that doesn’t work with Safari either.

Edit: if I click and hold on the link and wait for the pop up menu to appear and then choose “open in Google Maps” it opens ok.

Edit 2: Just tried this with the Timber merchants link and “open in Google Maps” is not an option as it is in the members link.

I'd say that you must have some problem with your set up.

The members map has been is place for a long time and I cannot recall any complaints. I'm mainly PC based apart from an old Iphone that I use but don't pretend to understand the detail but it too uses safari.

In Safari - Preferences - Security - Web Content . Do you have Enable Java Script Checked? I just unchecked mine and I could not open either Timbers Suppliers Map nor the members Map.
I do not think therefore I do not am.

Those menus don’t appear under Safari on my iPad.

On my iPad Pro running iOS 12.1.4 it’s Safari - Advaced - JavaScript, and yes it’s on.

I can open both the members and the timber merchants maps but the links work in slightly different ways on my iPad.
I wondered why this may be the case until I viewed the two links.

They are obviously not in the same format. I’ve had to take a screen shot as it doesn’t display the entire text.

I think this may be because I have the Google Maps app installed on my iPad. The link simply opens the app without any custom points. If you don’t have the app installed then it looks like it opens a Google Maps page within Safari.
Luckily you only need to use the link once if you have the app as Google Maps seems to save custom maps which is handy. ;)

I wonder if ipad Google maps also checks for updates as both forum maps get new points added from time to time but the link itself is unchanged.

Hi Bob, yes it’s there! :D Note that this is in the Google Maps app as I mentioned. Not a page in a Browser.
This is a very handy feature in Google Maps as it seems to remember any custom maps that you’ve visited. I now have five custom maps in the app on my iPad.

Thanks, Seems like a nice feature especially of you are out and about mobile and looking at a map does not gobble uneccessary data.

Yes it’s a very handy feature. I’ve no idea how I got it but this is one of the other custom maps I’ve got in the app. Chestnut products stockists.

Bob,

This is my supplier's website.
http://www.devonlogstores.co.uk/index.php/site/sawn_timber/

However, the address given and the landline number is his home next door to County Hall at Exeter because the mobile signal is so poor and unreliable at the farm.

This is their Facebook page.
https://www.facebook.com/Devonlogstoresuk/
Although I don't know if that works if you're not registered with FB

But the farm address is below and they are also contactable via Facebook messenger at either end of the working day, usually, as well as the landline.

Grantland Farm, Poughill
EX17 4LG

Quoted from his website.......

We have an assortment of sawn timber suitable for general use or for the craftsman or furniture maker. Both hardwood boards and softwood boards are usually in stock including ash, oak, beech, cherry, alder, birch, poplar, Douglas fir, larch, spruce and Scots pine in boards of various thicknesses, but please enquire about availability. Timber is either air dried or green and can be cut to size if required.
We can also supply boards, beams, lintels and other structural timbers for building and renovation projects.
Our timber is either sourced locally or from our own managed woodlands, which enable our prices to be very competitive.

I've been using Glenmere timber recently and I've been very happy with the service and pricing.

Note they only sell hardwood and don't offer any machining to size.

After a bit of a delay we now have the timber suppliers map on the map as it were.

Cast your eyes up to the upper left hand area of every forum page where you will find a direct link to the map with a single click.

Any further suggestions for suppliers to add to the map are always welcome.
