• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

    VCarving for the fist time

Very, very, very nice. V and A were close enough to be given these in person earlier and as the saying goes a picture (or video) paints a thousand words and we both fully understand the process now. Very clever and thank you so very much.

Well that’s another f&£king awful day!

Great to see the family complete again Mark. Are they a breed or a variety?

Post a photo of the last thing you made...

Yep. That a very neat, heavy, chunk frame, scaffold boards would look odd IMHO

    eBay listings and bladed items

I’d go back to the retailer and tell them that their carrier is refusing to deliver.

Bedec Barn Paint, thank you Mike G

Are you worried about the outside being a darker colour than the inside? 3 hours years on, BTW, and I’ve still not painted the frames:eek:

Careful in your workshops folks especially those up north. Seems you’re more likely to have an accident than in other parts of the country. https://www.theguardian.com/society/2026/apr/16/people-in-north-of-england-twice-as-likely-to-be-killed-in-accidents-as-londoners-report-finds.

Help please with RJ45 - RJ11 cable problem

Yep and I only had to buy two connectors. It will probably sit unused in the toolbox for years to come but worth it for the brownie points from MrsP and MIL

    Sausages

Current regulations mean we are not supposed to bring sausages here from the UK any more. Those made here are very fatty whether supermarket bought or butcher. Rusk or crumb of any sort seems to be never used.

Have you an aversion to stepladders? We have all stood on the most inappropriate objects and some of us have even fallen off stepladders. Hope you can recover without an op. Please don’t worry about posting stuff, that can wait. Get well soon.

    Modern cooking — a rant.

Normandy is horse country, there are everywhere. Around here more specifically trotters where the jockey sits behind the horse in a two wheel sulky.

Help please with RJ45 - RJ11 cable problem

Thanks for the kind offer EV, posting anything from UK to France is an expensive nightmare these days. Now sorted, couldn’t find a long enough extension so bought tool and rj45 connectors. Pulled off the rj45 from the non crossover cable, trimmed off the exposed copper wires, arranged in right...
