• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

    Shed rebuild

Just finished making the new doors. Insulated and osb inside, treated shiplap outside. 2x4 for the door construction. I fitted 38mm wood for header and footer and I think 25mm on the sides for a door frame first.

    Shed rebuild

Couple of updated pics since I was tidying up in the garden. I’ve put shelving up inside now and finally started getting rid of junk (hoarding) to make it a more useable space. Still need to make new doors.

Help with flat roof (EPDM) edge trim

After similar considerations to you, I folded my epdm over the flat roof and used a batten on the underside to secure it, see pics hopefully. If you do this way you need to plan for the joists to be set back a bit from the edge of the roof by couple of inches to enable the epdm to be coming back...

What fittings to join 2 pieces

I have 2 white sheet (like Formica) to join together that enclose a washing machine. I need to join them at 90 degrees. What fittings can you recommend? Only thing I can think of is those little plastic blocks but I’m also worried about precisely drilling through accurately to locate them with...

    Shed rebuild

Well just to close this off as it’s basically finished. Just need to finish electrics and tidy up around the site (garden etc). In the summer I will remake the doors. By the way I bought the frame with the LED lights to make it easy. The transformer can be situated inside - there is enough...

    Small workshop

I used one to make my path, it worked ok. Although it was just used to whacker the sand into the hardcore. The one I hired was petrol. Pretty heavy if I recall correctly. I think you may need some sand over whatever hardcore you use to create a flat surface, (‘bind’ it is the term I think) like...

    Shed rebuild

Yeaa baby! Motorbike in, for some immediate maintenance (I use as a daily commuter so need it back on the road for tomorrow morning! Now I can work in the dry & light). Haven’t had time to tidy up yet!!

    Shed rebuild

The issue is I only cut my featherboard up to the edge of the batten. I assumed the edge of the batten was the edge of the window, (as the blue material hid the true window edge). But it isn't - as can be seen by the earlier picture. The red lines indicate the same position in both pics, and...

    Shed rebuild

Bit of an update, I finished interior and painted white, took a whole day believe it or not (don’t bother with cheap sprayers, I wasted an evening on one. Totally useless, now binned). Fitted bench at normal table height for sitting at for model making etc. Then promptly got everything in out...

    Shed rebuild

Got the stud wall up today. I decided to bring it forward all the way and have left the correct space for a regular door once door liner is fitted at this end. I was also able to use all the left over insulation used previously under the floor since I had bought 2 new sheets. This was handy...

    Shed rebuild

Thanks you’re very kind. I keep thinking I’m not doing enough! But you know what it’s like, even doing the floor required much cutting of original osb boards as this shed floor dimensions is different / smaller then the original. I also find everything’s a struggle as either the tools you need...

    Shed rebuild

Today I tidied up everything and emptied it out so I could put the floor down. Trip up the dump at 8.30am to take about 10 bags of waste wood / offcuts to make moving about possible. I bought 2 new sheets of insulation to make flooring a bit quicker & easier and used lots of the original too...

    Shed rebuild

I wanted to fit the old doors for at least some nod towards security, so I did that tonight. I had to cut some off some height, and fitted the left one. The right one however needed to be about half the width, so take one door - and cut in half! Reattach a side bit Et voila one suicide...

    Shed rebuild

Lights arrived at work. Just got to get them home safely! I bought 2 to start with but I’ve gone for warm white, and also purchased the frame etc they offer to make fitting easier. A bit more expensive than £19 (I think 32 each) but might be worth it. Edit (there is a top-box on the...

    Shed rebuild

:eusa-dance: Front wall and remaining right wall (not shown) now complete. Well, except for eaves all round which will be a bit fiddly and time consuming but I can do them another time. Now all the main exterior components are done, and I can start on the inside. I had to buy some more...
