• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

I can report that it works really well and I have now finished the sanding stages with virtually no dust. Now doing the painting, which I hate. Whilst working, later yesterday, I remembered that I had seen on the internet, somebody “ shrink wrapping “ a pop bottle around a fence post. I wonder...

The bottle screw thread o/d was a tight push fit on a short length of plastic drain pipe and the vacuum cleaner nozzle was a tight fit to the I/d of the same. I have a box of plastic pipe offcuts for making connections to my various power tools outlets to my various vacuum cleaners used for...

    Mmm some treats for today.

I think Lidl version is better than the real thing……and substantially cheaper.

    Football

My dear old Dad was a FA official at the 1966 final, what would be called the fourth official these days. I spent the whole game hoping that the referee or a linesman would get injured. 🙂

Her majesty has gone to visit her friend for a few days, so I have decided to bite the bullet and get on with a small job that I have been putting off. We have a small, ex pantry that now homes and combination boiler and various bits and pieces. The walls are damaged and painted in gloss pink by...

    care homes

Care home staff should be paid better for sure. All care homes should be very tightly monitored. The profit some of the major players are making is truly obscene.

Make a workshop knife from a reciprocating saw blade.

Easy enough to make Rob. If you take your time with the grinding you don’t need to harden and temper

    Drip irrigation.

My garden is frazzled. Concentrating on saving the runner beans and courgettes. Will be the first time since we moved here 6 years ago that we won’t have tomatoes, they just didn’t get going despite being cosseted.

    St Dubricius church, Porlock

I just had to look him up with a fine name like that. That church is on my wish list now. Not been along that part of the coast before.
