• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. My wife bought an electric guitar. Ostensibly for herself, but in reality to trick me in to learning to play. Seems like it might actually work this time; I want to learn to play Yellow Ledbetter because I think it will amuse her. Anyway, I now have a Fender Mustang to practice on and a Fender Mustang Micro Plus headphone amp to play through.

I’ve found Lauren Bateman’s videos on YouTube. Watched a couple and they seem like they’ll work for me to get started. I love that she says many of her students are in their 70s and 80s. I’m not that old, but I am that slow.


But before I crack on, I thought I’d mention it on here to see if there are other online lessons for complete beginners that might be worth checking out. It seems like a lot of you play guitar so any complete beginner tips are welcome.
 
Always wanted to learn but life and then later a mangled finger got in the way, very envious of people that can.
I’ve watched a lot of live Blues and Rock and some people's ability is mind boggling.
