Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Probably not worth waiting for the next one; according to Matt Frei on the CH4 news last night, the next event will be in 2081 - Rob

A complete unevent here. Clouds started to roll in before 6pm and it got gloomy but no more than as if we were about to have a downpour. It confuse the birds though as they flocked to roost. 
This is how it appeared here. We watched under a cloudless sky with eclipse specs bought for the 1999 total which we travelled to France for. Image not mine, taken by a friend, as I do not have the equipment.

Eclipse not spectacular here at all, but what was amazing is the meteor showers and shooting stars afterwards. We waited for it to get dark and then lay outside and watched. Large numbers of dramatic shooting stars and also fast moving points of light (I assume meteors) in a very clear and quite dark sky.

Didn’t realise it was an eclipse until the news yesterday evening, with having nothing to view it through I turned the camera on my phone to forward facing so my back was to the sun & took a snap to see what all the fuss was about, managed to capture the moon directly in front of the sun with the suns corona shining all around the moon.
To be honest with all the fuss that was being made about it yesterday I thought it would go a lot darker, I’m sure I’ve seen it far darker years past.
