• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

A bit of a head scratcher as it’s too hot to do real work.

I'd have offered to get what you needed and sent them on to you Ian, but, as you've got friends due to arrive in a few weeks, job done ✔️ 😉

What Birds Have You Seen Today

Sadly very few... 1 female blackbird 2 house sparrows 2 wood pigeons (in trees at a distance away) There's been a pair of jackdaws nesting in a next but one neighbours roof space... raised about 5 youngsters but they now seem to have dispersed. It looks as though they disturbed a couple of...

Depending where @RogerS actually resides it may not be as easy as thought to change surgeries @shafiq. If anything like Frome, presently we have two separate (named) surgeries, but both in the same building! FMP uses most of the curved building... Frome Medical Practice occupies...

50 odd years ago I had duodenal ulcers (from age 16 caused, we thought, by stress of taking 'O' levels back then (1967)... I've been asked if I suffer from stomach ulcers, various times over the years of being on this omeprazole, and before that, lansoprazole, and have said 'no' as I no longer...

Upgrading my wearing out shed - in stages on a budget

@shafiq ... if unsure which type (there looks to be a couple of different ones for different purposes) Google search for the type you want. Something like 'brick spacers to help water draining' - or similar terminology. Part of what I had come up: "When discussing brick and block installations...

He/she/they won't let you get a 2nd opinion? They sound like a bit of a bully - but possibly haven't explained everything with you...? Putting into Google "do you need ppi with apixaban" it does mention that: "You only need a Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI) with apixaban if you have high-risk...

One reason I nearly didn't bother Rob... too many out there and too much £££ for me to put up to find out it wasn't giving me what I wanted some idea of BP range over the day... £60 notes was 'acceptable' to try one (Samsung Fit3 - Argos) but £40 (Amazon) for the same was better. *It does give a...

I'm trying to reduce and come off them Rog, because of my doctor saying "do you need to take them?"... That got me thinking of trying to come off them by gradually reducing the intake - because of what he asked *although not actually advising me to OR how to*. When I see him next I'll mention...

Ask your doctor to change the dosage of the tablet to 10mg - while you still have the 20mg ones. Then try a 10mg in the morning and a 10mg in the evening. That's how I went about it - 1 x20mg a day, in the morning, didn't work for me... whereas the 10mg twice day did. Now I'm doing 1 x10mg in...

    Bird table

Understand. I'd not be putting the trap out if we had hedgehogs. I don't leave it out - and set - every day/night. Only if I've been feeding the birds *and* happen to see one sneaking around to pick up the fallen seeds. I do see that they're helping (?) to clear away after the birds but I've a...

Doesn't surprise me Roger 😉... Seems these AI critters will give different replies/answers to different people asking the same question (same terminology! ) depending on that person's location... and other things. *From a certain discussion taking place in another forum elsewhere* 😎 (possibly...

Get yourself one of the live rat traps. I had the same problem. Bought, probably the same design, bird feeder from Lidls a while back. Got one of the live rat traps (so you can decide how/where you dispose of the critter - 10 miles down the road if you choose to!) and, over time, it's been quite...

The Benefits Of A Hobby After Retirement

For family bereavement you have my sympathies Chas... as well as the redundancy. Today is the anniversary of my father's death in 1992 - the day after his 68th birthday - from a heart attack. I still haven't got over it after all this time... Being made redundant exactly one month after his...

The Benefits Of A Hobby After Retirement

The one thing holding me back NOW is lack of *spare* funds, as the years go on, since retirement. I may have time on my hands but... The freezing of the tax free 'personal allowance' amount (as for everyone) has had and will continue to have a greater effect regarding any *disposable* pension...
