• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

    Connector Systems

I would think most people have, it has to be way down the list of jointing solutions to use but out of curiousity it is still available, why !! To me it must be like working in the dark as there is nothing to see when using it.

    Connector Systems

I know this is an old thread but having been looking into different systems and reading way to many comments in many places there is a distinction between the Domino and a Lamello P2 . For most things the Domino is great, there KD fittings are 50/50 . Where this Lamello comes into it's own...

    Feeling ever so slightly chuffed

Roger in a leotard !! That is a step change from aerobics into working with wood, I had assumed you came from a trade background.

    Simple door

Yes it is the panels, not initially obvious but about 30mm to narrow !!! Roger needed 275.5 + extra to go into the slot so about 295.5.

    Simple door

Are M&T's and Domino's really just six of one and half a dozen of the other ! A tenon is a tenon whether it is loose or fixed and getting the job done has to take priority in many cases especially where you are not making fine furniture, it is just a simple door.

    Simple door

But this is where the data is not clear, when you think about it a 285mm wide stile is a tad large so what this really means is the TOTAL width of three stiles is 285, so each stile is 95mm. You normally let the spreadsheet do all the work, only enter known measurements like stile width = 95...

    Interior doors

I have used Deanta doors as they were good quality and not really expensive when you think of making them. They also have a good amount of material to allow for trimming, not all do.

    Simple door

I had assumed it was the camera that made the rails look different and used the figure of 240, but with ( 2 x 240 ) + 1630 = 2110 which is more than the door height of 1870. Excel can be more than just a spreadsheet, I also use it's basic drawing features to provide clear context for...

    Simple door

The photo seems to show the top & bottom rails being of different widths but your sheet states 240, this must be the camera angle. Your say the door height is 1870 but if the rails are both 240 and the central stile is 1630 then this gives 2110 ! The best tool for this task is a simple 2D...

    Disappointing car, great neighbours

That must be the two door sports version with the flared arches . That is because it links to the OEM's server to verify that everything is above board and the vehicle is not stolen, it registers the download to that main dealer. These body control modules are also found on Peugeots and what...

How much to make these ?

Perhaps that is why it is refered to as Tulip wood, but I found it might not be the hardest of hardwoods but better than Redwood and less knotty.

How much to make these ?

That Popular is also called Tulip wood and is great for cabinet door frames as it is so stable, well the last lot I used was. It also paints very well .

How much would train travel cost

Once upon a time our railways were some of the best with station masters taking pride in their station and track gangs looking after sections of track and now after years of cost cutting and staff reductions you end up with what we now have, probably too many people saying what needs to be done...

Not so much a 'build' as a 'choose one and fit it out'

What you are looking for is airflow through the building so pushing it out might be the better option. The freezers are going to be warming up the air so when this warm air makes contact with a cold surface the water vapour will condense out. What you want is for the air movement to drop the...

MS Office Home & Student, 365??

Another issue is that Excel uses VBA code which is essential to get the most out of Excel, Libre uses something similar but is it compatable with existing Excel workbooks ?
