• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

    Suggestions for excavating this hole

As Dan says…..or freestyle but if your not confident stick to Dans idea. With the big routers you need to take control of them when they start and stop, and on a job like yours you can’t see what is happening so you need to listen so no ear defenders.

    Glass for furniture.

If it was me I would use 4mm plate glass If it was for a client I would give them the choice of laminate or toughened. 400x400 is relatively small so don’t see to much danger. How many people put laminated or toughened glass in a window that small?

    MFC - the Blade Assassin

Steve does your board supplier not provide a cutting service, it make life easier. Here in Spain pretty much every local board supplier provides a cutting edging and cmc router facility, my local one has a beam saw that’s accurate to 0.5mm From memory cutting a full board (1cut or 20) is €4...

    MFC - the Blade Assassin

Steve my guess is they put all sorts of rubbish in mfc, the other week during cutting there was a bang and a few seconds later I heard something hard hit the extractor impeller fan, probably a stone or something very hard…….

What does a Request Timeout mean on Ping test, Now Starlink,

We have the non priority package here in Spain, very really ever drops out so for my needs a priority package is not needed at the moment. Last week we had mega rain, over 300mm in 24 hours and Starlink never missed a beat, many with fibre lost coverage so we are well satisfied with Starlink

Front face aesthetics- The Wonky Donkey Woorkshop. Your opinion pls.

another vote for double doors, a simple task like carrying an 8x4 is soo much easier with double doors. Also if the mini max ever needs to go out a single door would be problematic

    Lean-to workshop pipedream

60 % of the windows in my shed are north facing they get no direct sun due to roof overhangs, they bring in a lot of natural light which is in my opinion better than artificial light…..ok I’m a little further south than Rodger so maybe that makes a difference.

    Unusual winter weather.

Must of been that year that many villages in Norfolk got cut off. My job was to taxi the 3 and sometimes 4 JCB drivers to there machines in various parts of North West Norfolk to clear the roads. Most of these roads where between hedge rows and the snow would drift super deep. My taxi was an...

    Axminster update

I used to buy most of my tools from Axminster as did other expats I know living in Spain, there prices and customer service was excellent, once my Fein saw had a problem, Axminster collected it sent it back to uk for repair and had it back to me in 7 days and no charge. Then Brexit happened and...

My Favourite Sandwich - Yes a lame post.

Good post Adrian! We used to get our milk fresh from the local goat hearder, alas European regulations has closed these down as it’s no longer profitable, same thing with the village cheese factory. The big corporations with there powerful lobbyists are culling the small businesses
