• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Her phone also does that, but who wants to carry a brick for 45 minutes fast walk! I don't walk with her at all, she is fast and leaves me behind. Recently at the coast we walked twice a day and I just see her disappearing in the distance. Then she sits and waits for me (I have the gate remote...

    Smart Phone - done!

Thanks, it comes with age! I fully agree, when watching the people out walking in our estate reading their phone or talking. Sitting in a restaurant looking at couples or family at tables, all on their phones. Our rule is no phone out unless expecting a call. I need a phone that I can at least...

Thanks Bob, good information. If no Sim card, how do you connect to a network? Getting info from old Sim to new phone will probably be done then by a smart kid at the phone shop?

Gave my wife some money for her birthday to buy a watch. ZAR1,000 cant remember the make, she seems happy. Measures BP, Sleep, Saturation, and whatever. I keep my opinion to myself. The real reason was to track how far she walks and time taken which uploads to her phone and also Discovery...

"So many questions, so few answers." Mark, these boxes are open sided, attracts a certain type of Owl. The estate next door has a closed box high on a pole, the bees decided to occupy. Apparently the owl(s) like wide open spaces to catch food and then fly in direct to the box. There is...

Bob, thanks. I need to chew a bit. What cables do they use compared to Android phones? Can I hook it up directly to my laptop (not Apple)? Charger? Not sure what the recon phone has with it. Presume they use the small sim card? That will be another challenge moving from large card and transfer...

Our Fauna & Flora people also decided to erect a couple of boxes in the estate. They were not impressed when I queried the cost and also when I asked if they had sent a whatsapp to the owls with a map of where the boxes are erected.

    Blood pressure

Sam, you have my sympathy. I am CKD 3b, so BP is extremely important. Strict diet + meds keeps it under control. We went away for 12 days and every second day was an eat-out day. I really tried to eat the right food, but temptation-devil stepped in. I could feel the BP climbing with...

UP You think English is easy?? I think a retired English teacher was bored...THIS IS GREAT! Read all the way to the end................. This took a lot of work to put together! 1) The bandage was wound around the wound. 2) The farm was used to produce produce. 3) The dump was so full...

    What I have fixed today

Our three bedrooms have large sliding glass doors. Nice, but can be lifted off the track if wanting to burgle. Our insurer stated that the doors need a deadlock fitted to prevent the doors being lifted off the track. Easy to drill and install and not expensive (2015 when we took occupation)...

Recovering from an op- ideas of what to do?

I really feel for you and Mike. My knee replacement 17 years ago was 5 day hospital and I could only escape if I could climb the stairs up & down with the crutches. Then another 5 weeks on crutches (lots of physio and also using their warm pool). I was fortunate to be able to take work home and...
