• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

MS Office Home & Student, 365??

Ok, not a high-jack ............................ ;) I want to use some AI software to manipulate photos, mainly for scroll saw patterns. Nano Banana wants a subscription. Anything else? I did Google, not much success.

    Aspiring woodworker - visit #2

Visit number 2. Modify the patterns to do away with round bits, easier to cut straight lines. (me) Cut out the patterns. (GS) Find pine offcut long and wide enough for the pattern. (me) Cut pine 10mm longer than pattern. (me) There is no way you will be cutting on the RAS! Hold pattern down and...

    A tad of mirth

Arguing with a Woman is like Reading the Software Licence Agreement. In the end, you ignore everything and click "I agree" It's OK if you disagree with me. I can't force you the be right!! Or If I agreed with you, we would both be wrong.

    Aspiring woodworker - visit #2

My greatest regret is not spending more time with the kids when they were younger. Work always got in the way and also being away from home for work.

MS Office Home & Student, 365??

I run 365, which is becoming expensive. Any 'Save As' in word, excel or power point always defaults to one drive. Been caught a couple of times when I could not find the files on laptop. Have to remember to select local folder. SoftMaker power point is not as good as MS, word and excel are...

Reliable long life water hose gun?

Gardena sprayers and fittings. Freezing not an issue here but a destructive sun. Sprayers are kept out of the sun on patio. The hose and fittings are replaced about every 8 to 9 years, O-rings in stock as well as spare hose fittings. Taps fittings also last for years, only O-rings replaced...

    Aspiring woodworker - visit #2

Thanks for all the comments, appreciated. I taught eldest son how to weld, and delegated all welding to him. My welding looked like vulture cr-p. GS parents are both electronic engineers, and both very practical with their hands. I must have been about 9 yrs when my brother gave me a coping...

    Garlic press

I tried a grater, too large, which resulted in 2 bloody knuckles, blood all over, and chucking out what was on the plate. What i usually do is buy 1kg ginger and 0.5kg garlic. Peel the ginger with a teaspoon and cut into chunks. Garlic cut off root end and top, peel off the skins. Get the food...

    Saw blades cabinet? Completed

Reply to Scott This the metal work table in the garage. I worked at a food factory in the late 80’s and every Friday we could scratch in the metal waste bin, pick what we wanted, had it weighed and then paid for it. The biggest problem was fitting it into the boot of the car or dragging a...

    Snoring

The specialist prescribed pills for restless legs and a sleeping pill. Waste of time and money, both did not agree with me. This is wired up for the first night. You do actually get some sleep. Next morning I was advised to spend another night with a CPAP monitoring. Shopping centre across the...

    Saw blades cabinet? Completed

The design team (me) sketched the box using all the valuable input. Initial thoughts. The sketch went to the production team (other me) in the workshop. The comment “he must be smoking grass!” First see what scrap is available, certainly not sawing up good board. Found a piece of 18mm ply...
