• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Mike builds a teardrop (tongue box and conduit)

I have never got on with the Rotex.. I find the handle in the wrong place. I agree the finish is good. Mike, A good ROS with 150mm discs with a backing pad for curved work is what you need. I also like the Mirka. They now do a 50mm diameter Mirka and several small square and oblong sanders...

Thanks Steve. It (the roof) is not old just very poorly designed. It is probably not even 30 years old.

    Roof Collapse

Thanks both. Not sure where that g came from. Let alone 2 of them! I had thought of putting a pitched roof on because the current design was designed to fail (as it has). The problem is that at one end it is not square. In fact the end wall is two walls at different angles so it would form a...

On my to do list for this year was to replace the roof on my old stable now wood store. That was before a few health issues intervened. I am back in hospital tomorrow so tidying up before I go. I went in the wood store to find water all over the floor. Looked up to see daylight. One of the...

The question seems to have two parts first is there an accurate meter from which the metric system is based. The answer is yes. The second is there a standard for the accuracy of tape measures and rules. The answer is yes both in the UK and Europe. As folks have pointed out, it does not matter...

IF I give up on the old one, the current favourite to replace it, given that I regularly interchange between imperial and metric and being left handed means I can read perfectly upside down and mirror writing, is the Sealey https://www.sealey.co.uk/stainless-steel-rule-24-600mm-ak9642/ I am...

Do any of you have an ideas where I might have left my 600mm steel rule. It is not in its place. I remember using it to get a line across chair rails and that I put it down somewhere stupidly I recall telling myself not to leave it there. That was January and now not a clue! I have looked most...
