• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

    Tumble dryer

We need vented to work well in an unheated un cooled room. Can easily be subzero to 30-35 C. Our creda reversair died after 35 years recently. The replacement hoover works well apart from sheets. It does not reverse and turns sheets into a tight cylinder that does notdry in the centre. So id...

    Compressor problem

As I said, the electrically larger. The grey one. If when you source a replacement you can find a higher voltage one that will still fit mechanically then get that one. Ypu should find a choice of spade terminals or wire leads. Whichever is more convenient to you. Polarity is un important

    Compressor problem

Looking at the manual for your compressor, there could well be two capacitors inside that black box. I would try replacing the electrically larger one first as that will be providing most of the starting effort.

    Paduk, gluing thereof....

I had no trouble machining and gluing Zebrano here https://www.thewoodhaven2.co.uk/threads/making-coopered-conical-forms.3709/ Scroll down for one made in Zebrano. The item is still in one piece and used regularly. Naturally at no time did I touch the wood with a hand tool! :ROFLMAO:

    Compressor problem

Ok that button is as Wallace said is an overload breaker. Does the unloader valve hiss when the motor turns off having got up to pressure. If it does then the motor capacitor likely to be inside the box on top of the motor could be weak. Before it gives up the ghost completely make a note of...

    Compressor problem

Just re-read your query. So this cutout is tripping on start up so you dont get up to pressure at all. Empty the tank and open the drain valve. Try and start the machine under no load. If it now runs ok, close the drain and see what it does.

Woodworking shows & open day announcements

If i lock it then no one can contribute? By making it sticky in a forum that traditionally does not have stickies and yet one that is regularly used, the expectation is that it should be a useful feature.

Woodworking shows & open day announcements

As suggested, here is the place to post details of woodworking events. I will make this a sticky so is should remain at the top of this forum. Please give event title, dates, postcode, entry pricing and a weblink for full details. I suggest we refrain from discussion here but instead start an...

    House Insurance

It seems that old habits of insurance cos to hike renewals hoping for inertia/ auto renewals to net them more funds die hard. The tesco new customer price difference however should have been outlawed by now - not that I'm complaining. I tend to get fresh quotes each year anyway. The days when...
