• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

    Dowelling Machine

I have just picked up a Scheer DB12 dowelling machine. It has 3 spindles, one of which has a bit of play and is throwing out the alignment by about .25mm. Has anyone got any experience with stripping it down and having a look what is happening with the spindle? I can't find any information...

    Mkaita 3612

My old Makita, to be fair has had a lot of use, I'm starting to notice a definate amount of play between the body and legs when plunging. Has anyone stripped one down and is there any adjustment. On the spares list the contact point for the legs seems to be the lower moter mount, but there are...

    Festool TS75 trouble

My old TS75 is really starting to struggle. I have mainly been using it for rough sizing timber before I get it to the table saw. Over here I am buying everything now from the sawmill in big packs or boules and the boards are a bit of a handful. To be fair I need to get another saw for...

    Insulation Quandry (Clay Apparently)

Well not really related to workshop builds it seemed like the best place to put this. With the rennovation work on the farm I have two rooms which are cold and leech heat. I was going to sort this before the winter but didn't get round to it, plus it will toughen up the boy. The rooms (one...

    Moving a big Bandsaw

I'm looking at a bandsaw about 100 miles away, its a big old cast Centauro machine that is 2.3 meters tall. The common consensus is to remove the table and transport it on its spine. I can see how that works, but the spine is quite curved so I'm thinking of some sort of frame to support it...
