• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

    Woo Hoo....Reacher's back

Excellent movie that. Ludicrous and you need to suspend all thoughts of authenticity as you say, but a jolly good romp nonetheless.

    Another pet gone...

Just to round off a completely sh*tty 9 months in terms of pets, i said another tearful goodbye this afternoon to my faithful puss, Maisie. Born illegitimately to her pedigree Maine Coon mother, Belle, and some local ne'er do well Tom, before we managed to have her speyed! Born in our kitchen...

    Woo Hoo....Reacher's back

Finish Small Prophets then go to Detectorists. Enjoy each on their own merits without the other stealing any of your concentration.

    Woo Hoo....Reacher's back

Agreed, both excellent pieces of television and wonderful casting in both.

    Wow, close shave!

Do you think aluminum threaded rod and bolts good enough for light duty moxon style vise?

Wood instead of metal for threaded rods...? Have I missed part of the conversation here...?

    A tad of mirth

I recognise most of those. Some of the US ones not so much.

Which models mate? I'm in the market.

    Box junction stupidity

That doesn't wholly make sense, but in summary is their issue because she stopped while the van passed then turned, rather than waiting for the van to pass before entering the box?

Believe this or not, I was using Cruise control for BOTH!!! So without trying to make this too long, there's a stretch of the M62 immediately as you come out of Manchester that has a variable limit, it was around 9pm in the winter, medium rain, I was a little tired after a long day in work and...

    OOPs and some.

After picking up 9 points in the space of two weeks (on a previously clean for 20 years license), on the same camera on the M62 variable speed limit stretch, I now drive like an octogenarian granny!! Six of the points expired early July with the other three expiring early November, then...

Well done for helping mate, i'm sure they appreciated it.

I've had automatics for my last 3 cars and 20 years and never had an issue. I'm not saying there aren't issues but I don't believe they're widespread enough to feel that they're a complete no go. My bigger issue with modern cars is not the automatic transmissions and more the fact that the...

    Blood (without the gore!)

Nope, not unless you have a negative reaction. I finish donating, sit at 'recovery' desk for 5-10 mins to have a sweet drink and snack or two, to prove to yourself and the staff that you're not woozy, then I head outside and drive wherever I need to. I'm sure some people have a negative...

Ouch! Poor guys, glad to hear nothing more than pride damaged and everyone healthy. Must have been scary for them.

Knee Deep In Sh-T is and understatement.

Mine is modern and has access chambers, next doors (the original farmhouse) is covered with a number of long, thick, lengths of stone with the oil tank atop them! Very different systems...

Intelligent Drill Press .... how much?

I'm struggling to believe this is real. The video shows the spindle moving deliberately across the workpiece and away from the hole in the table, meaning it will drill directly into the metal. Surely this isn't a design feature...

How does the saying go "Pink sky at night..."

What is that? Bang in the middle of the Atlantic between UK/US?

    Blood (without the gore!)

Just had the email to tell me that my last donation went to Christie's in Manchester. That makes me very happy because my late Mother was treated there twice, initially for breast cancer, then latterly for the tiny bit that wasn't cut out or killed by the chemo, that nested in every part of her...
