• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

    Newbie here!

Screwfix was a revelation because it gave you a paper catalogue with a picture and a price for every single one of the thousand items. We all take that for granted now and it's expected of a business. I suppose your problem is then with the general public is that they can go to Poundland and...

Never Have Work Done when you are Not Home

Id be less worried about a lady " workman" In male dominated workspaces they are usually far more diligent I've had to liaise with police in a previous occupation when dealing with scumbags and it was always the female officers that waded in first not taking sh*t from anyone.

    New toy

It is made by/ for Vevor That red one is the one I would have gone for but in the current chaos I have to endure I feared the detent latch would be too vunerable I'm not sure what else the £100+ ones have to offer- no doubt I'll be finding out eventually

    What I have fixed today

The whole space and the pipes but make sure it's easy to remove near the pipework area. Bubble wrap is nicer to handle than fibreglass in double bin bags but you could layer kingspan to fit the contours

    New toy

Mitre guage for table saw/other It was 43 English folding notes. It can make a TS behave like a Mitre saw especially when cutting oversize boards and sheets. Gives stability when presenting the end of an oblong sheet to the saw fence. Would have been a lifesaver in one instance lately when I had...

    Where were you …

Just got back from school run and switched on Tv Thought it was an afternoon movie at first. My son was watching but very impatient as it was the pokemons on the other channel. Got to work that night and our token muslim was very self conscious. He was a good lad albeit a bit of a character...

Do we learn from past mistakes?

Repeating the same action expecting change is my forte. Good excuse for a beer gut though. My head is currently a no go zone so being in a distracted state is currently making safe accurate use of tools a challenge
