• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Thats the info I was looking for - 1/2 biscuit depth plus room for glue and growth. Ive had the machine new, used straight from the box for four biscuits, never configured or meddled with it and then put back in the box for a decade and a half until now. As I recall it was a fanatical woodworker...

    Spax and the Big River

Aliexpress is great for components and sub-assemblies or consumables that the other platforms wont even have listed. For more mainstream stuff both AE and temu usually beat amazon and ebay if you dont mind waiting sometimes, and its usually exactly the same stuff. However ,since brexit some...

The dial has spring-detent presets The stop has some adjustment by the look of it ,as there is a locknut, but probably wont accommodate that much range.

    Google AI or ChatGPT

I think its marvellous. Its clever ,far quicker and far easier than coaxing information from humans. Its captivating. It traps you into a bubble of awe and wonder. You fail to see the danger in the bigger picture When you wake up it will be too late.

Thanks all I refer to this machine as a Biscuit Jointer rather than a 'BJ' to avoid censorship. Sam this is also a Ferm and I am confuddled. The stop is set on the 20 detent and the blade is held fully out in the photo. I can see that the profile of the cutter will match the biscuit...

"Ah but the redundant staff can be retrained to do something else" is always the answer to that. Retrained to do what? We only need so many bin men and care workers. The rest are on the scrap heap The benefits system will cost even more and there will be insufficient funds to pay the state...

Thanks Rob I will certainly experiment - its that fundamental nugget of knowledge I'm missing - is the cutting depth equal to or slightly more than half a biscuit? ( to allow for any swelling - or is it supposed to compress itself fully into the void) This is as usual an outdoor structure so I...

Thanks Frank but the dial only locates positively on the presets and none of them appear to me to be correct. I will certainly do some experimental cuts - good call. I cannot recall any issue last time - ignorance was obviously bliss.

Tescos Milk Chocolate Oaties are the best and I challenge anyone who would dare disagree to a duel. Afterwards I have plans to dust-off the biscuit jointer. I have only ever used it once ,nearly 25 years ago, and would not have bothered with instructions in that era. I have some 10 and 20...
