2mm ply

If any one has an envelope sized piece of 2mm ply gathering dust in their workshop I would happily find a new home for it.
I am sure I had some a while back but I can only find a few 1" strips and I would like to make a new insert for the bandsaw table.

Happy to refund postage etc to UK or France

Can't you use thicker ply Andy & rebate the edge so it sits flush?
This is what I do as if gives a more substantial plate.

I'll have another look at it later in the week, I think that I should be able to rebate a thicker piece.

I envisage screwing an oversize piece of ply to a piece of scrap then turning the OD and rebate as required. The screw holes would align with the cut out for the blade or be used as ventilation holes to aid dust extraction.

My bad Mark, both the bandsaws I've got & my old record machine have had round insets I didn't think of square or rectangular plates. Though those would be easy enough to rebate with the plate screwed to a scrap of wood held in the vice & rebated with a router.

I make inserts for my bandsaw from plastic chopping boards, cuts with woodwork tools but produces very long shavings. Mine are round but I usually cut the rebate with a router, I will try turning the next batch as I make 3 or 4 at a time.
