• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Baby Gym - Owls are in use!

Still not been able to get to see her.

Another grandchild is due later in the year. My daughter has requested an owl theme for the nursery.

Another baby gym is needed. So I borrowed this design from the interweb.

And slightly modified it to be cut with a 6mm cutter.

Congrats Malcolm, nice project but how did you round them over on the router without an accident? I’m not much of a router user. Ian

Thanks, Ian. I shall be machining them in the cnc later today. I could have programmed a roundover on the CNC, but I have a small cheap router table for my Rutlands battery router and will use a bearing guided roundover cutter.

I will also use the larger radius bearing guided cutter to roundover the gym legs on the larger router table.

I don't share my sisters' talents for painting, so I've gone for a 'naive' style. :)

The owls are ready to be hung from the gym frame when it is ready to be handed over.

No code, before anybody asks. They're just my old school house colours again, representing the patron saints of GB & I.

Grandchild No 4 was born in October.

She spent all last week in hospital with febrile convulsions due to a random e-coli infection!! Family all worried sick. Antibiotics caught the infection. Allowed home at the weekend. Now just on oral antibiotics.

Loves playing with these. Giggles at them.

I foresee many more toys, and giggles, in the future. She is lucky to have a grandpa with a cNC router.

And who is having more fun: her playing with them or you watching her playing with them! Well done!

Congrats to the whole family.

Congratulations, Malcolm. And it's great that the youngster will grow up not entirely surrounded by plastic.

It's always a huge worry when kids are ill and hopefully all's well now and you can breath a collective sigh of relief. Love the owls btw. :eusa-clap:

4 grandkids will keep you very busy, our one is enough though at 11 this month she's more interested in hard cash than wood objects. We've agreed to pay a sizeable contribution towards her new bike this time as they're damned expensive for a decent lightweight small ladies size  She'll still expect some other goodies though.

Thanks, Gents. She's progressing well.

I did have a montage photo of each of the other three grandchildren enjoying the baby gym, but I've gone and misplaced it! :(

That's OK, Bob. I can't take it with me.
