• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

An interresting read on bank ratings and the bottom end of the dark continent not looking too shabby at all!

Of interest is that Capitec offer 10% on a five year fixed deposit, minimum R25k. Better than the other banks. My impression on seeing their branches is very few drifters doing nothing compared to the other major banks.

It is a great shame that the UK banks don't wake up and smell the coffee and have some creative interest rates. A large proportion of the population have pension pots to cultivate and protect once in payment and the readily available UK offerings are pathetic.
I'm becoming more and more active in the peer to peer lending market and there are a steady stream of borrowers who seem prepared to pay high interest rates back by tangible assets so there is enough cake for the intermediaries as well as the P2P lenders who can get 10-14% with ease.

For those interested, most of the players are represented on this forum http://p2pindependentforum.com/

P2P is not for everyone and this is NOT a recommendation to dive in without doing your research.
