• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Hi everyone,

I am a long time lurker looking at the workshop builds on here.

I am particularly inspired by Mike's workshop build and will go along his lines.

I will start a separate thread about my own build and update with pictures as I go along.

Welcome along 🙂. I've been fitting out my workshop area after attempting to resurrect/reclaim what became a bit of a dumping ground quite some years ago. I've not created a thread here and really should do - the longer I leave it the harder it'll be to start it.

How much room are you likely to have for the workshop you're going to build?

Thanks. I too have been aspiring for a long time. Never a building but I have done the odd bit of DIY.

Thank you. That is a noble cause and good plan. A 7 metres lengthways but just over 2 metres depth ways so it'll be a narrow one.
 
Welcome from NW France, we do like a workshop build around here. i hope you will have time for plenty of photos as you progress.
 
Welcome James, as you may know I’m in the middle of insulating my Wonky Donkey barn space which you may find interesting.
In a former life I spent my student years in Leeds ( a lot of it in Brahms and Lists lol ).

A tad bigger than mine which is about 20ft x 8ft (external measures) in total. Internally there's 2 rooms: 1 at 7ft 4" square, 2nd at about 11ft 4 x 7ft... it runs out of square. Good luck on getting it done - rooting for you 👍🙂
 
Welcome aboard James. As the lads say, the only thing we love more round here than a workshop build, is pictures, so plenty as you go along.
