Just for a change I made something for myself.
I have 2 mobile phones:
Samsung E212 purchased in 2011 for ZAR299.00
Push buttons
It can phone, SMS In & Out
5 Alarms
FM Radio
Camera
Various ring modes, I use Outdoor with vibrate, can then hear it and the vibration moves it around the table! :lol:
The battery still lasts 8 days on a single charge.
No software to continuously upgrade.
The time display is large enough to read without the specs.
It is small 100mm x 45mm. Comfortable fit in my pocket.
Nokia Lumia 820 SmartPhone
Was an old company phone, when they purchased new ones after 4 years, we could keep the old one.
Gave the Nokia to wife to use. Wow her own 'smart' phone.
(I still carried 2 phones when away from the office or home. Do not use company phone for private calls)
When GS arrived she discovered that the phone was too old for "Whatsapp" and went and bought a Samsung Galaxy.
The Nokia was then given back to me and I use it as a camera phone. Takes excellent fotos.
The Galaxy lasted maybe 18 months if that and ran out of memory day in and out. (Moan, moan, moan ..........)
So I bought her a new Samsung Galaxy that could handle WA and all the fotos etc.
I still have to move fotos from the phone to laptop every so often to free up space.
So I still have the 2 phones.
They reside on the desk or in the workshop on the bench.
The problem on the bench is the tools etc. lying around.
So what did I make?
Cut out of some scrap Pine 22mm thick, 2 phone stands, see foto.
I will redo at some stage as the wood is too narrow and a small bump and they all fall over.
But at least I surfed some nice ideas.
These 2 will be painted and added to the "Cut & Painted Stock".
The Nokia is also useful when we are away on holiday and can hook up to a WiFi to look at e-mails.
