• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Using my TS55 today on some oak and the electronic brake has stopped working :(

Searched Google and didn’t find very much, but the following site selling motor brushes suggests they could cause lack of braking?

https://www.sparepartsworld.co.uk/product/FES491704

I’m going to have to take it apart but wondered if anyone had any ideas what could be the issue to know what to look at?

So this is useful for someone searching the net I took it apart and the brushes had loads of life left so it couldn't have been them.

So I bit the bullet and sent it off to Festool, my skills with electronics and lack of time it was the best option.
So £175 later, it's getting a replacement armature which was damaged and brushes.

Cheaper than a new saw but that handmade gift turned out to be very expensive

That is very strange to read that an armature fault could prevent the brake from working when presumably the saw ran perfectly well?
Brush replacement is possibly one of those things they do automatically on every repair.

I'd have put money on the speed control/braking module/switch being the fault.
