• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Bed - Finished and sleepable inable!

Out of curiosity Steve is that a UK size mattress or Euro? I was surprised when we came here with our UK beds and mattresses to find sizes differ

I bought it in the UK, but it is, in fact, a Euro size, 200x140cm. 190 is more common, and, with the benefit of hindsight, that might have been a better choice, as the room is not very big. But I don't like to be able to tough the bottom end of the bed with my toes. Weird, I know. :)

Traditional names Like Single, Double, Queen etc, don't really make sense any more, they are not definitive standards.

And talking of French bedding, why are so many pillows square rather than rectangular?

Different again over here Steve, I thought their king was enormous but seemingly there’s a California King that’s even bigger, and the ordinary pillows are about 3’ long.

I did a road trip up the Maine coast a few years ago. In one of the roadside motels we stayed in, the bed was so wide I couldn't stretch out and touch both sides at the same time.

A few years ago SWIMBO bought a 'murrican king size duvet cover from the US, as it was the only one she could find with a full size Japanese Red Crown Crane on it. Trouble is, UK king size duvets are too small by about 300mm in the width and length. She's now seen the light and has opted for a William Morris 'Strawberry Thief' pattern in a proper UK size :ROFLMAO: - Rob
