• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Found This Piece, (yes), At The Dump

The top is pressboard so it will be discarded. Started with using a heat gun to loosen the paint then scraped with a five in one tool not bad.6006.jpg6003.jpg

Ok, next I took it apart to make the job easier. Came apart nicely maybe 20 mins work. All the hardware is soaking in a rust removal solution.6009.jpg6010.jpg6012.jpg6014.jpg

Nice find, but sorry it’s the fires and smoke I need to comment on. Didn’t know there were any fires in Canada till We smelt it and saw the smoke — like a haze in the air and no sunshine. This was in Connecticut earlier today. Are all the red fire markings on your map separate fires?
If so that’s absolutely incredible! What on earth has been going on? It’s not a regular thing in the heat is it?

Pretty normal for us, smoke and a heat wave makes for nasty weather. Yes all separate fires and that's just Ontario. Many fires in Quebec and other provinces.
Luckily I am working indoors for the next six weeks.

Yes, most often, also hot vehicle exhaust from crews working if the bush, campers being total idiots and the nut jobs who get a kick out of starting fires.
There is a complete ban on use of outdoor fire pits, charcoal BBQs, chimineas and of course brush burning till further notice.

Do you have any idea what timber that's made from, Scott? And what's "pressboard"?

Pressboard is the North American name for chipboard I believe.
