• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Dewalt DW733 thicknesser issues. Advice needed.

Hello to everyone after a very long absence! I'm having some feed issues with a DW733, which is bothersome as it's brand new out of the box today. It worked fine for the first few boards (oak 3-6" wide,) , making fairly light passess. Then the feed began failing to pull the boards through...

    Bearing removal- Advice required- Bob?

Hello folks! My beloved DW615 has eaten its top bearing (making some interesting noises in the process!) Upon attempting to remove the bearing from the armature shaft, the balls and outer race have parted from the inner race, leaving me with the inner race stuck on the shaft, thus: Get down...

    Not very fine woodworking

Good evening all! Prepare yourselves for that one of my dreaded WIP/woodcrime threads..... Members of the old Woodhaven will remember (with varying degrees of horror and dismay) the Great Pirate Chest of Many Lids That Didn't Fit thread from Xmas 2011: The need arose for a bit more storage...

    Glue Clue

Good evening folks! Which glue would you all recommend for exterior use which has excellent water resistance and is also a half-decent gap filler? I've disassembled a raised, fielded panel door (I won't say why at this stage as I'll be doing a WIP thread if by some miracle it doesn't end up as...

    A return to woodworking

Greetings! I have returned! (cries of "boo!", "dear God, no!", etc) Sorry to say I haven't stuck my head in here for quite some considerable time, but I'm relieved to see many of the old regulars still seem to be here. After a VERY long break from woodworking caused by many, many bad things...

    Never under-estimate.....

.....the importance of proper protective equipment. Yes, I know I'm preaching to the converted, we all don suitable gear prior to embarking on a big routing session and so on. But it's just quickly performing a two second operation without reaching for the proper gear that causes accidents...

    Workshop Build

At last! Amanda The Ever-Patient Sawdust Fairy signed a chit for me to get cracking on the workshop build. A quick call to a landscaper friend of mine saw a nice concrete base laid: Not quite as large as I'd hoped for (SWMBO bargained me down a bit) but I'm optimistic that a size of 13 x 16...
