• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

    YouTube Guitar Lessons

My wife bought an electric guitar. Ostensibly for herself, but in reality to trick me in to learning to play. Seems like it might actually work this time; I want to learn to play Yellow Ledbetter because I think it will amuse her. Anyway, I now have a Fender Mustang to practice on and a Fender...

    NHS - truly amazing service

I did a bit of research since you guys mentioned omeprazole and I had taken it briefly in my youth. It apparently can prevent or disadvantage absorption of all kinds of things, but - relevant to this thread - notably iron and B12. You can see on this page for example that proton pump inhibitors...

For the people on omeprazole, do they tell you to take vitamins supplements as well?

M&S Wagyu - bother ye not

Has anyone been to a Whole Foods in the UK? The US stores are great for fruit & veg (or were before the Amazon acquisition anyway). Only just realised there are shops in the UK. Never heard anyone mention them.

    Nervous about Surgeon

I’m sorry that happened to your wife. I hope she’s doing well and wasn’t too traumatised. I had a bad medical experience decades ago - a collapsed lung that the GP refused to recognise because it wasn’t causing me pain despite the fact hospital had already x-rayed & confirmed and it was my...

    Google AI or ChatGPT

I use Grok through X. They keep cutting back how much you can use it for free, but 20 questions a day is enough for me. It’s pretty useful, but it’s always a case of how much broken glass you want in your custard, isn’t it? I like my custard to be glass-free. Grok mostly is just custard, but...

    Nervous about Surgeon

Been a bit busy, but I did change doctor. I had a meeting with the new one and she was totally normal and easy to talk to. I did see the scan. She listened to what I had to say, we agreed on a conservative approach to the surgery, and I should have it done sometime in the next month or so...

The Bas…..s got me 11 times

I’m sure I’ve said it on here before, but if you really, really must wipe out a nest of wasps (try not to! Wasps are beneficial too), you can do it without chemicals by getting a wet-dry vac and filling it with soapy water (doesn’t need to be very soapy, it’s just to reduce the surface tension)...

    Hot Heat 2026

The met office have issued a red alert for Thursday. Was supposed to be on the train that day, but have canceled and rearranged our trip. Should be much cooler - normal summer weather - on Saturday.

Greetings from the other side of the pond!

Welcome Steve. I can relate to your tale of cursing at hand planes - something I’ve done quite recently!
