Tried my hand at splined miters and kumiko with this one. Probably spent more time making the kumiko jigs and cutting all the strips than i did making the actual box. Mike has a great method for making the lipped lid on the table saw. All the kumiko work done with hand tools and the box mainly done on the table saw. Black walnut with white oak bottom. The African bloodwood splines really glow in the light but kind of disappear in pictures, so i tried to get one close up under light. Basswood for the kumiko section. Lined with handmade pressed flower paper from some lady on Etsy.
