• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

    Spitfire !

LOML is a treasure. Last night she asked me if I was going up again. I muttered about cost etc but she told me that I should go for another one albeit shorter and local so that we didn't have the overhead of a hotel and a lousy Italian restaurant to cope with as per Goodwood. So I did ! I'd...

    Little critters

I cull the ones round here that have run riot and unchallenged for years with my .22 rifle. The count is well into double figures. Trying to convince LOML that the deer that keep getting into the garden and eating her roses need the same treatment and that we will eat them.

    Little critters

We have rather a different viewpoint over here regarding them !

I think that that will be the Aerolite Spitfire Type 433. Currently looking for further investment.

    Spitfire !

Yesterday. What a day ! Fulfilled my boyhood dream. Up for a hour. Flew it for 75% of the time and even did a few rolls. They used to say that you wore the Spitfire like a coat and I can see why. Afterwards Charlie (my pilot) told me that not very many first time flyers in the Spitfire...

    Blood pressure

Endoscopy. Ah, my favourite…..not😩 I’ve tracked down more details of the person at the surgery who incorrectly told me that I had to take a PPI because of taking Apixaban. She is not a doctor. Will push back.

    Blood pressure

There's no point in seeing a GP since they've told me .....because you take Apixaban you need to take a PPI. That does not follow NICE guidelines. So it's DIY time

    He most certainly is. :)

BBC Engineers - very interesting older man.

LOL…..possibly. The only common intersect would have been the entry Technical Assistant course but if he was in radio ops then our paths would likely never to cross. Adrian..what was his name?
  16. RogerS

    Blood pressure

Exactly. As I have already posted above, the decision is not a difficult one to make. Do you want to monitor and record accurate clinically validated blood pressure readings or do you want to record rough estimates of BP but be able to reply to a tweet.
  17. RogerS

    Blood pressure

And the NICE guidelines say PPI not automatically needed. Bit of a dilemma..do I argue the toss with the GP or quietly follow the excellent regime that Frank gave, gradually come off Omeprazole and just stay shtum?

    Blood pressure

Have you got a D2, Bob?
  19. RogerS

BBC Engineers - very interesting older man.

Yup. Broadcasting Engineer TelOB’s. Adrian’s chap sounds more likely to be steam radio than TV. EtV is from that neck of the woods.
  20. RogerS

    Blood pressure

Well, my GP said 'because you're on Apixaban you need to be on Omeprazole to protect your stomach from bleeding'. Thing is that's not the whole story and I don't meet the criteria to automatically take omeprazole for that reason.
