• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

    Conversion - bathroom to en-suite

He came. He struggled. Started to force in screws at an angle. Gently suggested that was not ideal. They have a QC issue. We agreed on that. But I need to crack on. So out with the Dremel. Wait for some compensation.

Hardly woodworking as we know it ....

LOML came to me yesterday with a request for a couple of tampers for her seed growing. She'd found a couple of knobs that she liked and which suited her hands. The only 'clever' bit was shaping the corners to fit into the pot.

    Conversion - bathroom to en-suite

Further to the above, Matki are sending out a senior engineer tomorrow which is pretty damn impressive customer service, IMO.

    Conversion - bathroom to en-suite

I told Matki that I was unable to get either the old door downstairs or the replacement upstairs and that it was a two-man job. The two original guys who delivered the original shower could not have been more helpful. Well, private company and so customer service featured very high on their...

    Conversion - bathroom to en-suite

Here are a few photos ( already posted on the 8mm drill thread) of current State of Play Latest problem is that Matki's QA has slipped since we last bought from them. The metal component of the side panel has been bonded 2mm out which means that the screw-holes do not line up with the wall...

What to do with Off Cuts?

    Nervous about Surgeon

I agree with everything that has been said and to be honest if it were me I'd insist on meeting the surgeon again and if still unhappy then request someone else. Who is saying that you need the op. ? The whole thing smacks of poor healthcare. Carlisle ? I know that some have had OK results...

8mm diamond drill bit recommendations sought

Superbly. It's from their DRYGRES range. You run it dry and they reckon on bits of small size to get 25 holes. Erbauer you only get 1 or 1.5 per bit.

A fair point. Trouble is that the en-suite is so tiny that I can't take a decent picture that doesn't have parallax errors big time. This is the best I can do Latest problem is that Matki's QA has slipped since we last bought from them. The metal component of the side panel has been...

    Conversion - bathroom to en-suite

The shower tray trap proved very hard to do up and seal properly. There was nothing for it but to go downstairs and open up the ceiling to see what was causing the issue. Turned out to just need a little adjustment on the outflow connector. But.....and this will make some of you...

I retract my statement’…that it all seems to work,,,”. The 6mm bits are junk. They don’t run true. They don’t cut. They just about do one hole. Then you need a new one. Wet or dry. Fast or slow. Makes no odds. Erbauer are c**p. Marcrist…ditto. I have a Rubi arriving tomorrow. Ok at...

Osmo UV-Protection oil - still sticky and tacky

After my last email to the supplier regarding the above, I just received a first-rate reply from them. Can't fault them TBH. This is clearly unacceptable, and we will resolve this. I suggest a team come out and replace the relevant affected timber if it cannot be wiped down to remove the...

Thanks everyone. I already have a Rubi gizmo to hold the bit in position and lubricate with water. That plus the Erbauer bit seems to work
