• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

    Battery chain saws

The thing is, Mike, that since the ‘grass’ had been mowed to pretty much ground level there were no clues as to the true state

    Festool TS55 lock washer problem

Ta da ! It was inside after all. While moving it about, upside-down etc I heard a couple of rattles and then back to silence and so clearly getting wedged somewhere/somehow. I started to undo the five 2.5mm Allen keys which was when I found out that the Festool engineers had managed to round...

    Festool TS55 lock washer problem

No it doesn’t which surprises me. I did wonder it did hit the other blade and bounced off somewhere. Trouble is I was cutting that lovely NoMorePlus rubbish outside on the drive. Which is stony and similar in colour. I used the nail detector over the area but it failed to find it. Guess it’s...

    Festool TS55 lock washer problem

Changing the blade yesterday, I think I managed to 'lose' the lock washer inside the TS55. I say 'I think' as I heard a metal on metal sound and thought it was the washer landing on the replacement blade. But I couldn't see it anywhere. So I've come to the conclusion that it is somewhere...

    Battery chain saws

I should add that went to use the petrol hedge trimmer yesterday. Ran OK last year. I clearly forgot to run it dry as the remaining Aspen had turned blue. Tipped it out. Replaced with fresh. Would it start? Nope. Took down the long-reach hedge trimmer which I was doubtful about as it...

    Battery chain saws

I went for the 40cm Milwaukee. Delivery drivers are a movable feast - no pun intended. Some will drive down....the local Yodel guy does that...top man. Kelly - our EVRI driver is also good. DPD are the worst. None of the DPD drivers like the rural round that we're on for the very good reason...

    Do NOT buy NoMorePly

Perhaps. But my point is that there are many other cement boards out there which do exactly the same thing. Not just making life bloody difficult like NMP. I can get used to a headache. It’s still cr*p

    Do NOT buy NoMorePly

You've confirmed that NMP is best avoided.

    Do NOT buy NoMorePly

DO NOT BUY NOMOREPLY. After a lifetime of renovation and building work this is up there at or near the top of the list for Worst Purchase, Why? Very very hard. Requires a special blade in a track saw to cut it. No way can you score and snap like you can with Hardibacker or similar boards. You...

    Coronated

It has always been 'thing' for me. With regards to a fullstop being aggressive or even slightly aggressive simply compounds my view that teenagers et al are simply far too 'precious' and 'woke' and basically need to grow a pair.

Upgrading my wearing out shed - in stages on a budget

Just take a long hard look at its condition first. Is it square and solid ? Are the doors and windows easy to open? If the answer is no then it has probably shifted out of square which may mean weakness that will fall aprt in the lift. We inherited two sheds. Both are really ropey and I...

    Flush Ceiling Ventilation Extractor.

No, I don't think that that is the reason, Gill. Much more likely that (a) it isn't on long enough , (b) not enough volume being extracted and (c) the room is 'sealed' too much with respect to the rest of the house and so it is not easy for fresh air to enter....which will restrict the outflow...
