• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

    Home-baking gluten free loaf

Thanks Roger I now recall my mother nagging about not slamming doors when she was baking victoria sponges. Mind you she religiously added ingredients in specific order even changing from a wooden spoon to a metal one when adding the flour. I seem to make quite respectable cakes by bunging all...

    Home-baking gluten free loaf

Adrian, I’m curious about the not baking in thunder comment. I dont associate your character with folk lore and superstition and so wonder about the science behind this comment?

    Any Ideas on these?

Several stretched across the Norwich bypass. Look a bit like a jungle rope bridge. The faces of the Vee shape are lined with coarse wire netting and no significant cable attached or obvious connection to overhead wiring either side. The Vee goes down to ground level on both sides. Some sort...

    Smart Meters

I don't have one myself but four of my flats do. Flat 1 installed by idiots as the electricity meter is in a service room and the gas meter is on opposite sides of the block and will never be able to communicate through multiple brick walls. Display unit provided but cannot communicate as it is...

    Mission impossible ?

The whole EPC scheme is a joke. Not only do they giving impractical suggestions for improvement but the grading system has not caught up with newer tech. Recently i was faced with an all electric flat where the previous brain donor owner had removed all the storage heaters which led to an...

De Walt 2000 watt router repair

Normally most things are repairable economically unless it is the armature that has failed which tend to be very spendy meaning a new or used replacement router is the best way to go.

    They are back!

My grandparents lived next door to a Police house and 60 plus years ago I recall seeing the posters showing Colorado beetles. They seemed huge and no idea of scale was given. Possibly what made the deep impression on me. Bob

Ultra unprocessed foods with zero food miles

Giving most away and eating a portion each day. Looking them up on the glycemic scale, even though they are sweet it does not present a problem for my diabetes. Make jam would however send my blood sugars crazy. Last year rats had what fruit we produced but next doors 5 cats seem to have evicted...

Ultra unprocessed foods with zero food miles

Our strawberries are doing really well this year. Plants are in their third year. Around 2.5 sq metres have yielded over 11 kg so far and picking 1.3 kg every other day. Possibly one more pick before they are done.

    Kitchen Table - Finished!

Really? Seems straightforward enough to me. Simpler than working out the 2pins and string method. Major axis is given by the distance between router and one slider and the minor axis given by the distance to the other slider
