• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

I think he could have made his life easier and popped them in a bag! I carry one to our allotment but we are in a rural village. However he did nothing illegal; he could prove he was carrying them for a purpose and was within the law. His caution should be removed and compensation given by...

Mike builds a teardrop (tongue box and conduit)

When you get to that stage… I’ve been treating the underside of my Eriba this year, I’ve always used this on the underside wood - Dekalin Dekaphon 9735 Underbody Protection 500ml BLACK Motorhome Caravan

Seven Heirlooms - and one for my great niece, too.

Those seven bodies lined up with the paduk / tulip wood end detail looked lovely. Hope you sort the bending issue, frustrating so many breaking!

How would you knock these out?

My first thought would a ceramicist to make something which served the same function but was washable. Would obviously look different but could look suitable Michelin.

Mike builds a teardrop (tongue box and conduit)

The build project I’ve been waiting for. Intrigued by the unique features you have planned. Chassis looks plenty strong, amazing how much of the external ring under our Eriba is 1” box with very thin wall thickness. Before I read the text I thought the centre section was a footwell, often...

Looking for a matte black fabric

You can stil get "proper" felt made from felted wool - might have less sheen? Not sure

It's always exciting to watch even if it goes past in a blink! I'm not an avid road race fan, but I've seen the opening stage the last two times it was in the UK, local to me in 2007 and then in 2014 we planned our holiday so that we could see it in Yorkshire. Our children were quite young...

    Garden Table

That's interesting about being able to be creative in limited time. I'm a designer but don't use CAD much so my skills are limited but I think I could pick it up realitively easily. I think it will be my next tool purchase for the workshop. Interesting that you leave it running overnight, is...

    Garden Table

It looks great, well done. I've also been looking at the plastic pieces you printed and how you've integrated it as an invaluable tool. I guess there is a shift in mindset needed, beyond making replacements when things break, to actually use it over other materials and tools.

Oooh I also have green wood envy. Enjoy!

    Garden Table

Great looking table and a very enjoyable read thanks for taking the time to do it. I wouldn't add anything beyond the roundover, the top and middle cylinder have sharp edges and they could start looking a bit disconnected.

I'm with Phil, more interested in the price column than the ABV!

    new houses

The loss of farming around us in the past 15 or so years is shocking. Driven by supermarkets. These developments that get built always only have a bare minimum of affordable housing and are still being built as they were 50 years ago with an electric charger on the outside as a nod to the...

    The Forestry Industry

That's really interesting take on the railways closure, I knew we imported most of our timber but hadn't thought about the impact of the railways. As with most things comes down to money, extracting maximum profit and not worrying about consequences.

Regular readers will recall me saying no more renovations. Well.........

I know you CAN get away without a draining board but why make like difficult? If you then need to buy a gadget to hold dishes to dry, it's like installing just a hob and no oven, and then buying an air fryer. None of our pans are dishwasher safe, enamel or cast iron, then there's lots of...

Quite a journey! Not sure if you've posted pics in other build threads but you really have some lovely old machinery there!
