• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Hi All,
Some of the smaller projects I have done recently are table lamps for 'er indoors.
Thee have been made using lampholders, tubes etc from ex charity shop lamps.

A lot of the tubes are M10 thread, I can easily buy new lampholders from B & Q but these are 1/2" threaded.

Anybody know of any 1/2" male to M10 female adaptors OR 1/2" threaded polished tubes?

I might have to get 1/2" nylon bolts and drill them M10 if I cannot find any.

If you want to see what I mean look on my Wordpress blog - link should be in signature area.

I do not want to make these commercially so onlysmall quantities required!

It's funny doing woodworks things after a life in metal things but after Pacemaker last year I am not allowed to stickweld any more, I am finding it enjoyable though!

Currently working on welding rods for wood - got to make life easier for myself! :text-lol:

I searched on "table lamp adaptors" there are bound to be others of differing sexes.

The 1/2" thread is BSB (British standard brass) and is a constant pitch thread series of 26 tpi. ie all diameters have the same pitch. Taps and dies are available from places like Tracy Tools.
