• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Adobe photography plan

Do you know if you can cancel your current plan to buy that one? That's way below half price, isn't it?

If you pay monthly now, buying a year just puts off your next payment for 1 year. you can buy more than one and add more years. Don't know if there is a limit but i have a next payment date of 2024 now.

That's great - sorry to be a pain, but do you keep the versions of CC that are already on your computer or do you end up using new versions? Mine can't handle CC 2017! It's a bit old...

Done - really easy process.
Thanks Robert, that's saved me £70 over the next year. I owe you a pint or whatever your tipple!

If you pay a monthly sub now you are entitled to always have the latest version of the software. The 1 year top up doesn't change that. The CC app does the updates to LR PS and bridge.

The latest software seems less power hungry than it used to. where sliders used to take a second or two to show the effect they are instant now.

Yes. Affinity is dirt cheap and very full spec though does lack some of the background replacement technology in Photoshop. I use Affinity too though as second string to DXO Photolab 4 in my case. Used to subscribe to Creative Cloud but have no need for the ad ons nowadays.

The cheapest way to get Adobe cc free is to get a job in education them it's free, but I mostly use Nikon's free editing software, it's very good but you have to use Nikon's raw photo format.

I’ve always liked Adobe products, especially when they were free to use at work! I stopped using Lightroom a while back because of the paucity of adjustment tools compared to the competition. And of course the monthly subscription. ;)

I bought Affinity as a quick stopgap as I needed some of the tools it had. I’ll likely buy Capture One at some point when it’s on offer. I do have the Free version to dabble with until then. That’s all for RAW development.
I’ve managed without Photoshop for years but a free alternative may be worth downloading soon, GIMP?
