• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Been back since Tuesday morning, overnight flight from New York. I have all the symptoms of flu without the fever. Jetlag or virus?

I've never had anything other than messed up sleep patterns and extreme fatigue. I would say illness rather than jetlag.

Cheers
Mark

Although the airlines don't like to admit it fumes from the engine could be a possibility:

http://aerotoxic.org/about-aerotoxic-syndrome/

"What are the symptoms of Aerotoxic Syndrome?
Symptoms may be acute, i.e. for a short time or chronic, i.e. long-lasting.
Any combination of the following may be experienced:"

Fatigue – feeling exhausted, even after sleep
Blurred or tunnel vision
Shaking and tremors
Loss of balance and vertigo
Seizures
Loss of consciousness
Memory impairment
Headache
Tinnitus
Light-headedness, dizziness
Confusion / cognitive problems
Feeling intoxicated
Nausea
Diarrhoea
Vomiting
Coughs
Breathing difficulties (shortness of breath)
Tightness in chest
Respiratory failure requiring oxygen
Increased heart rate and palpitations
Irritation of eyes, nose and upper airways.

It seems the only aircraft that doesn't take bleed air from the engine for the aircraft cabin is the Boeing 787.

another vote for virus here :(

Worst cold/flu I've had in ages was after a long haul flight home from Singapore. Aircraft are germ recirculation devices - hear a sneeze many rows back and get off with a cold.

Sounds like a normal day .......................

Sorry Andy, couldnt resist.
Not experienced Jet Lag as the trips have all been South-North-South.
Go with the BBBB medication.

Came back from NY years ago on the red eye to go to eldest sons graduation in Coventry and only had time for one hour nap before setting off from Yorkshire.

Came off M1 to go onto M69 but went round roundabout and straight back up to M1 !
Then followed earache from 'er indoors and a scrabble on map to find shortest route, but at least we just made it (pre satnav days).

Took me years to live that one down...

Virus it is. Blood tests yesterday also showed an excess of Billy Rubins :) Problem with the liver evidently. American beer is not good I know but I only had one all trip.

Off to UK with eldest daughter tomorrow night. I hope I feel better as I have some important errands to run.

Hope you get over your illness quickly Andy.

I didn't have to be suffering from Jetlag to go wrong last week.
We were diverted off the M1 due to a lorry fire but the sat nav kept trying to send me back. Missed a sign at a roundabout, travelled several miles down a dual cwy, then noticed the sun's position and realised we were heading back south instead of north!
That and the diverted traffic crawl, the total journey took 9hrs instead of the usual 3.5
Journey back not much better (7hrs) as we were caught up with the M1 Ferrari fire featured in the news.
