• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Any LINUX Users here

Linux Mint (20.0, fully patched)on Firefox here. Will try a few things and edit this post.
Edit: profile page presents no problem on any category in the left-hand sidebar. Even uploaded an awl, or, as I see now, parts of it.
Edit2: been clicking around for about an hour now. All seemt to work well.

On the old forum you could click a photo anywhere, it zoomed out, click it again anywhere, get back in the thread. On this software you have to move your mouse to the upper-right corner to click the cross. Meh.

I'm posting this from an Ubuntu VM started up for the purpose, where everything looks fine so far.

There's no real reason to think it wouldn't be, as all the common Linux browsers are the same as the popular Windows ones. Of the possible desktop systems, it's really just Mac you have to worry about, since Safari likes to do its own thing in many areas.

Working fine on an Amazon fire tablet, must be logged in to enter a thread though.
Not working on a bootable Linux on my laptop, with 10 quid hard drive. as I can't connect to server.
(Linux mint 19 cinnamon 3.8.6, on firefox)
Can't get Google chrome on my laptop, nor can go on reddit, as it mentions my browser is unsupported..
Should that matter?

Tom

If you are also blocked elsewhere such as Reddit then it may well be a factor of some of the code libraries / the level of php on the server etc - not sure we can do a lot about that, the software is very flexible but being newer software it is possibly less tolerant of older technology…

YAAAY, it now works on my rickitey Linux laptop! :)
@akirk I did have a look into updates, but I'm clueless about computers,
and I've got my pictures saved onto this bootable rom version,
so was very wary of deleting anything which some youtubes mentioning codes suggested.
I can make do without the Reddit forum, and stick to the old boards website instead.

Thanks to yourself and everyone else involved in the changeover.

Cheers
Tom

Glad to hear that - what did you do?!

What about just pressing esc on your keyboard?

I wonder if anyone here is using the forum with Linux and whether it is working well for you?

Bob
Yes, it's fine here (xubuntu strain of Ubuntu, with Chrome). I'm using it now (as your logs should show).

In any case, the limiting factor is the browser. I usually use Google's Chrome and occasionally Firefox.

I'll check my Mint also, whenIgetamo.

You are highly unlikely to have compatibility problems with anything Linux, since the new forum software might well have been written by people using linux desktops!

You don't actually need to find the cross - clicking anywhere in the darkened border, outside of the actual image, will dismiss it.

The blank screen is back again, when trying to post via my laptop. o_O
Hoping this isn't done for some good reason.
