• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Are there forum issues?

Since yesterday I've been finding the forum slow to load anything including opening posts. is there an issue?

I'm not finding that problem with any other site and my speed is running at the max around 25mbps that I can get. Using a laptop running Win 10 as usual

It would be nice if I could have the option to post a reply on my old Linux computer, but it's not been possible for a month or two.
Now, it's back to the same thing, as back when the forum was changed to xenforo.
(A blank screen in the reply box)
I brought this up, and the issue was fixed instantly, seemingly...without any fuss.

I can only guess there are tech reasons why this has been changed again?.
Though should this not be the case, and instead some automatic update has happened, rather than manually being changed by human hands,
then if it were sorted, that would be great.
(as long as it doesn't hinder some other things for other folks)

Peasants regards.
Tom

Can’t say that I have noticed any issues from here. Access varies from OSX to IOS to Android using either Safari, Firefox or Chrome and Wifi or Mobile data.

nothing changed on the site...
slow downs can be for a number of reasons - sometimes - though rarely it is an internal or server issue - and if so, that is usually fixed quite quickly
sometimes it can be a bot invasion or DOS attack - which can take longer to resolve
sometimes it can simply be an external issue over which we have no control...

always happy for folks to pm me if they can and let me know - I am on every day anyway...

Not sure what has caused this - we have changed nothing - do pm me with more details and am happy to look...

Mac OS and Safari here. Really slow, appears to hang for quite a few seconds (5 to 10) after clicking on anything, before opening the relevant page.

Quite unrelated, when I log off, it hangs again. If I click log off again it says, Oops we've run into ……….. Then if I click on home, it goes to the general page.

Having said earlier that it seemed okay today that's what I'm now experiencing also. Slow/clunky on desktop and mobile.

Nothing has been changed at all, by anyone, Tom. Remind me what your issue is because I have no memory of ever fixing the issue you describe...

I'm not having any speed issues at all. What ISP's are everyone one...?

One must remember, the internet is a completely unregulated 'thing' and people break it ALL THE TIME with poorly implemented changes over which mostly we have zero control or influence.

Might it be the schools have broken up for summer and there are millions of kids glued to their phones online? Plus heavy bot activity?

I've had intermittent issues, yesterday and today, with pages loading via the "Whats new" tab in the Forum... including just now to check on this posting. On Android phone and tablet.

It hasn't changed on my laptop, lags a lot especially when reading posts with 'photos. I couldn't access the pics on Mike's teardrop thread earlier but ok when I went back in later though slow to load. It does seem to vary.

Haha, I spent ages trying to find the thread, and it was right under my nose!
FWIW, I'm still currently able to post on at least one other xenforo site, (woodworker.de).
I guessed it was gremlins at play, rather than a human decision, and by the looks of things,
it seems that it may well be difficult to find out why!.

Cheers guys, for your correspondence none the less.

All the best
Tom
