Looking for a manufacturer who can supply bandsaw blades of 3378 mm by 2mm width for the UK,

Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Have you spoken to Ian at Tuff saws? I think he will know where to get them if he cannot supply them himself.

Thanks Dave, but at present Ian Black of Tuffsaw cannot supply. He cannot gett the raw material that thickness, but is looking. I get all my blades fro Tuffsaw, as they are the best IMO. Regularly using a 1/8" from Tuffsaw and they are very good, but still looking for 1/16" or even 2mm would do.

can you get spiral blades for bandsaws ? like you can for scroll saws ?
or ! .. can you set up a 3mm blade and run it, with some sand paper / grinder on the back until it becomes 2mm ?

Spiral blades would soon destroy the wheel covers, so the answer is no. NEver thought about grinding down the 1/8" blades but they could heat up and soften.

If you take it steady grinding the back of the blade, I think it could be done, I round over the back edges of my blades to allow them to follow a curve without binding. It also makes backing out of a cut smoother.
