• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

I use the Calendar app on my iPhone a lot but trawling back to 2015, I found that all the events (apart from Bank Holidays and birthdays) had disappeared!
Is this normal and can I keep a copy of the years events?

Rod

I found this out the hard way loosing some work related data from a few months earlier

The good lady wife now uses an app called Day One, though I notice they now charge for it, she got the free version so no doubt there are similar apps that will also be free

Rod do you have a Mac and use the calendar on that?

If so then are the events still in iCal on the Mac?

I think this is probably to do with the sync time, go to settings, mail/contacts/calendars, scroll down to calendars and see how long the 'sync' setting is for.

Default is 1 month I think. Now whether this is related to how long it stores historical events in the iPhone or how long back it syncs them to iCal on the Mac I would need to do some googling to find out...

Cheers
Mark

Thanks Mark - I have a MacBook but don't use the calendar on it but will check to see if things have copied across?

The sync on my phone settings were 1 month - I backed it up a few weeks ago so that's probably why it wiped older stuff out?
I've changed it to "all events" so I'll see what happens next time.

I am in the process of compiling the family 2015 video and the upgrade from iPhoto to Photo seems to have scrambled up date orders etc of my stuff.
I know you can interrogate each photo but much easier and quicker to use the calendar for the events.
The new Photo seems to bundle photos together into various folders etc with a wide date range whereas the old iPhoto stored them in date order which made them much easier to transfer. [emoji35]

Rod you can get Photos to display all images in reverse date order, newest at the bottom. Just select the All Photos album.
