Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. After cutting a length from the bottom I milled a flat surface on the jointer then ran it through the band saw.

Then off to the table saw to size it down to 3 1/8" square. Needed to wear a respirator due to the fine dust and overbearing aroma.

Very dry, has been standing in the garage for four years.

Needed to build the bedframe before finishing the headboard. Wanted a contrast in wood and texture. Legs are cedar posts, frame is cherry.

Most unusual Scott, very Cabin-ish. Did you screw through the bed frame into the legs?

Yes, from the backside. Cabin-ish good description, never entered my mind while making the frame.

Mortised the posts and tenoned the rails, next is to mortise the rails for the slats. This is a dry fit only.

Headboard is glued and pinned, I'll leave the clamps on overnight.

Back and front , decided to plug Cherry over the slat pins. The bed is finished.

I think I will lower the headboard about 3" to 4", I did a pillow stack for reading purposes and it will be fine to lower it.
