• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Hi,
Thanks for having me.

A little background history:
In 1980 I started out serving a 4yr apprenticeship as a cabinet maker and restorer, then ran my own business doing the same until I moved to, what many of my friends called, the dark side of trees, chainsaws and bandsaw mills.

Now I own and run a small timber yard in Eakring, a small village in the heart of Robin Hood country.
I buy locally grown hardwood trees from within a 20 mile radius of my site, mill them, dry the planks and either use them for my own projects or sell them on to like minded souls around the country.

I sell timber to the standard I would have liked to have bought.

After 43yrs of playing with wood I have a wealth of knowledge that I'm happy to share.

I think you’re the first member we have with that particular set of skills/line of work. Great to have you and I’m sure you have a lot of knowledge to share.

Price list available via email on request, I sell rough sawn timber so prices are per cu/ft.
As a rough guide 1 cu/ft is equal to 2 boards 1" x 9" x 8' (in general I work in imperial)

Prices are updated every 6 months, having said that they haven't changed that much since before covid, I didn't jump on the price increase bandwagon like so many of the big yards did.
