• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

I have a workshop in the midlands, UK and have been making stuff out of wood for over 20 years, mostly one offs from chairs and tables to doors and windows and kitchens to wardrobes, I’ve just finished wine room, which is a first for me, and let’s face it we could all do with one of them!
I have to say I do love the kit and have a mix of SCM and Wadkin machinery.
I’ve joined because I’m in the middle pulling apart a Wadkin BT 500 and have a couple questions,
But I’ll save that for the right area I’m guessing?

I used a Wadkin BTS630 years ago, an absolute monster of a machine with some quite nice features which were quite revolutionary at the time it was made, a very well thought-out and built machine from when the people designing the machines also knew how to use them. Yours is just the standalone BT500 thicknesser correct? I can imagine it being quite complex to pull apart with all the bells and whistles going on like the powered rise and fall, segmented feeder roller, and the unconventional movement of the thicknessing table.

Wallace might know more about them, I'm not too familiar with their internal workings.

MOD EDIT : I've sorted the pics for you. There's a good sticky on photo insertion but there are some quirks with modern phones which mean they don't rotate properly. It's being looked at... :?

The BTS is a real nice looking bit of kit
And yes it is the dedicated thicknesser, I’m hoping not to completely strip it down but have already had to do more than I hoped mostly sorting other peoples mistakes, nothing that can’t be sorted luckily
